Description
This introductory level French course provides the basics for traveling in France or a French-speaking country. Each session will be centered on a typical experience of a traveler in a Francophone country. The themes covered are the following: asking for directions, making hotel reservations, ordering meals in a restaurant, exchanging currency, telling time, understanding weather reports, purchasing tickets to concerts and museums, and describing people and places. In each session, there will be proficiency development exercises in grammar, vocabulary, speaking, reading, and pronunciation, all pertaining to the topic chosen for that session. To enhance your cultural experience, many of the topical exercises will include authentic cultural material, i.e., songs, poems, restaurant menus, audio clips of weather reports, etc.).
