Description

Enjoy engaging French conversations and readings of famous French novels in a small group virtual setting. All novels selected for the course will be in an abridged format and modified for students at the upper intermediate - advanced level. Previous titles (in the modified and abridged format) have included Alexandre Dumas’ Les Trois Mousquetaires, Jules Vernes’ Voyage au Centre de la Terre, Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, Arsène Lupin, Stendhal’s Le Rouge et le Noir, and Victor Hugo’s superb masterpiece, Les Misérables. All discussions of the works will be in French. Periodically, there will be short lessons that provide the cultural and historical context of the novels. Short lessons and activities in advanced French grammar will also be provided every other week.
