Retest Policy: Effective June 22, 2024, test takers can retake the test once as soon as they would like. If more than one retake is necessary, test takers must wait 7 days after their most recent attempt (not including the day of the test), and then, they can retake the test two more times. Continued retakes will follow the same pattern of a 7-day waiting period after two (2) attempts.
Breaks: There are no scheduled rest breaks during a standard test session. If a test taker must leave the testing room briefly during the test session to go to the rest room or take medication, the 2 1⁄2-hour limit will continue to count down. Test takers will not be allowed extra testing time for such an absence. When the test taker returns to the testing room, the session will continue to be available up to the 2 1/2-hour limit.
While taking a test, test takers should have nothing on their desks but their scratch paper, photo identification and pencils. The use of any of the following items in the testing room is strictly prohibited:
• All phones, including cell phones, smart phones (e.g., BlackBerry®, Android®, or iPhone® devices, etc.), tablets, all watches, wearable technology and any electronic, recording, listening, or photographic devices are not permitted in the test center. Possession of or use of any of these devices will result in immediate dismissal from the test center, forfeiture of test fees, and cancellation of test scores. Test takers may also be banned from taking a future ETS test.

Anyone found using testing aids during the administration (other than electronic devices) should be warned and, if the action continues, should be dismissed from the examination. Test takers with electronic devices will not be given a warning but instead will be dismissed immediately.
The allotted time for the test is approximately 2 ½-hours per session. Please arrive on time, as once the test door closes, it will be locked for secure testing.
